Completed investment in water conservancy projects had reached 14.6 billion yuan by the end of November in Jiangsu, 108.3% of the schedule, according to the province's water conservancy department.
The achievement, faster than planned, is expected to give a strong support to the province's economic recovery.
Jiangsu's water conservancy efforts have given priority to backbone projects with the national importance. The province accelerated renovation of the Wusong River and projects near the Hongze Lake. Completed investment in these projects reached 5.98 billion yuan in 11 months, 123.7% of the scheduled goal.
Jiangsu has also made distinctive achievements in renovation of smaller rivers of 426 kilometers long by completing investment of 2.4 billion yuan.
Jiangsu also finished investment of 2.28 billion yuan, 99.8% of the total planned amount, to enhance embankment capacity of the Yangtze River, Taihu Lake, Hongze Lake and other major rivers and lakes.
