From January to July, Nanjing Customs issued 42,900 certificates of origin under the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement for exporters, which were estimated to cut tariffs of 122 million yuan for clients.
In the same period, Jiangsu's importers also won the benefit of 106 million yuan worth of tariff reduction thanks to the RCEP certificates of origin.
After research in textile, chemical, electronics, automotive, new energy sectors, Nanjing Customs introduced measures to guide the province's exporting companies to make a better use of the agreement.
As RCEP also includes the category of approved exporters, which is able to self-declare the originating status of their goods, Wujiang customs house has supported enterprises to win the recognition of Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), which has led to 9 certificates of origin issued.
