Jiangsu’s FDI inflow up 46.6% in first two months

Foreign direct investment into East China’s Jiangsu Province, in actual use, expanded 46.6% year on year to $8.37 billion in the January-February period, accounting for 22.1% of the country’s total FDI, the highest share.  

The manufacturing industry saw FDI inflow jump by 62.5% year on year to $2.65 billion, or 31.7% of the province’s total, while that of service and high-tech industries surged by 37.9% and 52.5% year on year respectively. Data showed FDI inflow into high-tech manufacturing and service sectors increased by 105.2% and 18.1% year on year respectively.  

Investment from Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and South Korea saw a year-on-year increase by 49%, 7.9% and 7.4% respectively. During the period, investment from countries along the Belt and Road climbed by 87.8%. 

Geographically, the actual use of FDI in southern, central and northern Jiangsu areas increased by 42.4%, 15.8% and 98.3% year-on-year respectively.
