At the fifth session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) in Beijing, members from Jiangsu will make proposals on a wide range of subjects.
Cheng Yongbo, a member of the CPPCC National Committee and president of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics, said three of his eight proposals are related to food security, one of his key concerns in the annual session of the top political advisory body.
On the plane to Beijing, Song Qing, also a member of the CPPCC National Committee and director of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division of the Suzhou University of Science and Technology, said her proposal centers on the application of digital means to control pollution and carbon emissions.
