A team sent by the inter-departmental task force for COVID-19 response in Jiangsu Province visited frontlines in the fight against the pandemic in Suzhou City on February 17 after new cases emerged recently.

The team also held a video conference on the pandemic prevention and control, requiring the thorough implementation of comprehensive and decisive measures by the CPC Jiangsu Committee and provincial government to curb the spread of the virus as soon as possible.

At a sample collection point in a neighborhood, the team expressed appreciation to the local officials, medical professionals and volunteers, listened to the briefing of the response work, urged better scheduling and on-site management in line with protocols, and prevent cross-infection at the site.

At a venue placed under quarantine, the group held a video call with a site manager, learned about the venue’s operation and management, and requested proper disposal of medical waste.

Later on the day, the provincial task force for COVID-19 response held a meeting via video link in Suzhou. Efforts are required to adopt rapid measures to cope with the emergency, strengthen the coordination and support the nucleic acid testing in Suzhou in order to win the battle against the outbreak in the shortest time, according to the meeting.
