The Global 5G Intelligent Manufacturing Base in Nanjing Binjiang Development Zone was recognized as one of ten 5G application cases in China, a ranking released at a forum during the 2021 World 5G Convention.

The event, the world's first international conference in the 5G field, opened on August 31 in Beijing and featured forums, exhibitions and a 5G-based application design competition.

The base in Binjiang stands out for facilitating intelligent manufacturing in various aspects, smart technical upgrade, and deeper and extensive industrial application of 5G technology. The base is already home to 5G applications such as AGV carts and intelligent warehousing. Such efforts are claimed to lower the production defect rate by 53%, increase production efficiency by 27%, and shorten the cycle time by 13%.
