The Yangtze River Delta, consisting of Shanghai and the provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangsu and Anhui, has made impressive progress in pursuing quality growth, stimulating innovation, improving business environment and hosting key projects.
Already one of China's most dynamic regions with the highest-level opening-up and the strongest innovation capability, the delta is undergoing a massive transformation to integrated development. This also includes a demonstration area on ecologically friendly development, which spans Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang.
Market regulators in Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang introduced 17 new measures to support the demonstration area, including a unified standard to facilitate enterprise registration and more streamlined governmental services.
Today, the delta is home to 46 of top 100 most competitive Chinese counties or county-level cities, according to the latest report by CCID Consulting.
There are also 23 enterprises in the delta included on the 2021 Fortune Global 500 list, among which 9 are in Shanghai, 8 in Zhejiang, 4 in Jiangsu, and 2 in Anhui.
