Jiangsu athletes bring home 2 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals

The Chinese delegation at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games included 37 athletes from the country’s Jiangsu Province, who brought home two gold, five silver and two bronze medals.

Zhang Yufei won a silver in the 100m butterfly on July 26 and then a gold in the 200m butterfly on July 29, setting an Olympic record and also giving Jiangsu the first gold. She then joined Yang Junxuan, Tang Muhan and Li Bingjie to win women's 4x200m freestyle relay in a world-record seven minutes and 40.33 seconds. July 31 also saw Zhang and swimmers Xu Jiayu, Yan Zibei and Yang Junxuan to get a silver in the mixed 4x100m medley relay.

Sheng Lihao, 16, sealed the silver in men's 10m air rifle with a score of 250.9.

Gymnast Sun Wei, born in 1995, claimed the bronze medal in the men's gymnastics team.

Zhao Shuai, who won a gold in Rio Olympics, won the men's 68kg taekwondo bronze medal.

You Hao, 29, scored 15.300 points to claim the silver medal in the men's rings final on August 2.

Guo Li and Liang Xinping, both from Jiangsu Province, were in Team China to win the silver medal in synchronised swimming team with 193.5310 points.
