Nanjing has sufficient anti-pandemic medical supplies, said Xu Zhenzhong, deputy head of Nanjing Food and Strategic Reserves Administration at a press conference on August 3.
Xu, also head of the city’s essential supplies and reserves taskforce, said Nanjing has enough medical supplies, such as N95 medical masks and protective clothing. The city also has prepared enough tents, folding beds and emergency lighting equipment that might be used to for COVID-19 testing and response in extreme weather, such as high temperatures and typhoons.
As of August 2, Nanjing had allocated 5.39 million pieces of various medical supplies, with an average daily delivery of 450,000 pieces. The city also distributed 8,825 pieces of emergency supplies, such as folding beds, tents and blankets. The city’s reserve of medical supplies includes 707,000 N95 masks, 257,000 pieces of protective clothing, 206,900 protective masks, and 21,000 relief items including tents and rain boots.
