Nanjing disinfects shared bikes in COVID-19 fight

The Urban Management Bureau in Nanjing’s Xuanwu District has required three bicycle-sharing companies to ensure disinfection of their bikes placed near COVID-19 nucleic acid testing sites, subway stations, retail complexes, and farmers' markets.

The bureau quired the companies to disinfect all shared bikes in areas of their operation indiscriminately rather than just take care of their own bikes. The companies also need to provide sufficient supplies to disinfection staff, such as masks, gloves and other epidemic prevention materials.

The bike-sharing operators need to disinfect bicycles at two time slots each day, between 8:00-10:00 and 16:00-18:00, especially the cleaning of handles, saddles and locks.
