Among 591 tech startup incubators and 35 university science parks recognized at the provincial level, 93 won the rating of excellence in the latest performance review, according to the Department of Science and Technology of Jiangsu Province.

In recent years, the department has offered provincial grants of 240 million yuan, which also driven local governments to provide an additional 67 million yuan, to support the steady progress of incubators.

Jiangsu now has 965 tech startup incubators, among which 239 were rated at the state level. The province has held the top spot for years in terms of the number of incubators, the accumulative scale, and the number of enterprises being incubated.
