Jiangsu‘s consumer market maintained robust growth during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday from June 12 to 14, with retail sales increasing by 28.3% year on year to 4.32 billion yuan, according to the province’s Department of Commerce.
The Department of Culture and Tourism of Jiangsu Province revealed on 14 June that the province's scenic spots and rural destination received over 11.47 million tourists during the 3-day holiday, 85.14% of the level in 2019 and basically the same as in 2020. The province's total tourism revenue reached 3.5 billion yuan, an increase of 0.89% and 15.84% over the same festival in 2019 and 2020 respectively.

In comparison, Jiangsu expanded the supply of cultural and tourism products for the holiday, such as hosting the 12th Jiangsu Rural Tourism Festival and the Jiangsu Cultural and Natural Heritage Day. The province also announced a new batch of 36 villages as the recommended travel destinations. Many scenic spots in the province highlighted the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, intangible cultural heritage, and traditional customs.
The effective COVID-19 prevention and control measures have also boosted consumer confidence during the holiday.
