Nanjing, capital of east China’s Jiangsu Province, issued an ambitious plan named after its well-known Purple Mountain on March 26 to attract global talent to support development of key industries.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan, the city plans to attract 100 top talents (teams) and more than 80,000 overseas returnees. It has launched a series of support measures to boost innovation and start-ups.

Nanjing will establish 14 talent projects to attract high-end professionals in many fields. It will offer rewards of 5-10 million yuan to the top-notch expert or team, or 100 million yuan at most. Fund support for entrepreneurial talent will increase from 1.5 million yuan to 3.5 million yuan.

Nanjing has also launched the Purple Mountain Talent Cards, which serve as an ID for the owner to gain easy access to exclusive benefits. The recognition in seven categories currently facilitates 60 types of services, such as settlement, social security, education and healthcare.

Meanwhile, the Purple Mountain Talent Intelligent Cloud Platform was also launched to integrate functions including talent evaluation, application for service, project declaration, and policy information sharing.
