Jiangsu delegates deliberate NPC Standing Committee work report

Jiangsu delegation of the fourth session of the 13th National People's Congress (NPC) held a group meeting to deliberate the report on the work of the NPC Standing Committee on March 9.

Lou Qinjian, secretary of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and chairman of the standing committee of the Jiangsu People's Congress, said the provincial legislature, under the guidance of NPC, has made new progress in strengthening legislation and carrying out effective supervision in various undertakings, including the COVID-19 response, pollution prevention and control, workplace safety, FTZ development and business environment improvement.

Lou said efforts will be made to give full play to the advantages of the Jiangsu People's Congress in promoting decisions and arrangements of the CPC committee, with a focus on upgrading the industrial chain and supply chain, expanding domestic demand, supporting the comprehensive revitalization of the countryside, and promoting the Beautiful Jiangsu Initiative for a high quality of life.

Jiangsu’s deputies to the annual session said NPC and its Standing Committee fulfilled their duties and worked productively to make outstanding achievements in the past year. The deputies called for efforts to implement the new development concept by strengthening legal protection, enforcement and supervision, and giving full play to the role of the NPC as the highest organ of state power.
