Xiangcheng District in Suzhou City has offered 33 positions with an annual base salary of 250,000 yuan to woo talents who finished studies overseas.
The positions involve financial investment, urban planning and other sectors important to the district’s development. This was also the 6th time for Xiangcheng District to attract talents from across the world.
In July this year, Xiangcheng unveiled the China-Japan local development cooperation demonstration zone, one of six such sites in the country. The zone is now home to 85 promising projects invested by Japan and the plan is to add 100 more each year in the next three years.
Among the 33 positions, for the first time, the district is recruiting a professional to be based in Japan and responsible for investment attraction. This position is expected to strengthen cooperation with local Japanese enterprises and institutions, accelerate the introduction of high-quality projects and resources into Xiangcheng, and support the district’s efforts to be a role model in bilateral cooperation.
In 2017, Xiangcheng launched the "Excellent Overseas Talent for Regional Key Projects," which has brought 201 Chinese foreign-educated returned students to the district.
