Suzhou has been included in the first batch of pilot cities for new urban infrastructure construction, according to the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
The recognition will lead the transformation and upgrading of the city and also accelerate its development of information technology, digitalization, and smart drive, all key parts of the country’s new urban infrastructure initiative.
Suzhou has carried out a number of demonstration projects in various sectors so as to blaze a trail in the initiative. For example, the city has established an integrated city management and service platform, expanded the application scenarios of smart and connected vehicles, and tried to develop a smart neighborhood equipped with digital technologies.
Suzhou will focus on seven key tasks, including better management of municipal infrastructure projects, to create a livable, green, safe and smart city with a vibrant cultural scene.
