In the fourth quarter, Jiangsu has accelerated the construction of major projects, including two high-speed railways and two bridges.

The Suqian section of the Weifang-Suqian High-speed Railway recently completed the concrete pouring for the first pier body, marking the start of the substructure construction. This smooth success was achieved through careful planning, multiple safety and technical briefings to on-site workers, and other coordinated measures to ensure quality.

Progress was also made in the construction of the new high-speed railway along the northern bank of the Yangtze River in Jiangsu. The first piece of arch lining for the entrance of the Haimen North Station was constructed, laying the foundation for building the station’s main tunnel structure. The structure, made of reinforced concrete, has sidewalls 1.6 meters thick and an arch thickness of 0.9 meters, measuring 15.1 meters in width and 12 meters in length. It features a high-strength concrete mix C45 , an impermeability grade of P12, and a total volume of 235 cubic meters of concrete. The project team strictly adhered to the waterproofing requirements by using two kinds of rubber waterstops.

A milestone was also reached in building the world’s largest composite diaphragm wall foundation for the southern anchorage of the Southern Channel Bridge, part of the Zhangjiagang-Jingjiang-Rugao Yangtze River Bridge. The design includes 32 smaller deep shafts on the outside and 15 large compartments on the inside to support the anchorage. The construction of the small shafts has been fully completed, and the first large compartment was recently finished.

Additionally, in the construction of the southern approach to the Chongqi Highway-Railway Yangtze River Bridge, the first concrete pouring for the continuous beam between piers S15 and S18 was completed after 10 hours of continuous operation. Spanning 4.09 kilometers, the Chongqi Highway-Railway Yangtze River Bridge is a key project on the Shanghai-Hefei section of the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-Speed Railway. The bridge’s upper level serves as a two-way, six-lane highway with a speed limit of 100 km/h, and the lower level accommodates a double-track high-speed railway with a speed limit of 350 km/h and a double-track intercity railway with a speed limit of 250 km/h.
