Xuzhou will accelerate efforts to increase its GDP to exceed one trillion yuan and reach new milestones in 11 key initiatives, such as becoming a manufacturing powerhouse and a regional S&T innovation center, constructing a comprehensive transportation hub, grassroots-level governance, and livelihood guarantee. Song Lewei, head of Xuzhou delegation at the "two sessions" of Jiangsu Province, introduced that the city plans to make substantial progress in developing itself into a regional central city, strengthening and expanding its industry chain, and transforming into a cultural powerhouse. As a resource-based and old industrial city, Xuzhou aims to make headway in urban renewal, rural revitalization, ecological restoration and other fields, exploring more experiences that can be shared, replicated and expanded.

Xuzhou will coordinate efforts in developing itself into a central city of the Huaihai Economic Zone and a sub-center city provincewide. It will advance the zone’s collaborative development in multiple fields and at various levels, and actively engage in the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta. Poised to shoulder its main responsibilities and make more contributions, Xuzhou will accurately understand changes in the macro situation and its development stage, maintaining the spirit of forging ahead with no time wasted. Xuzhou will promote the ethos of being enterprising, innovative, pioneering and trailblazing across the city, actively responding to potential uncertainties with determination and clarity.
