Xuzhou held a meeting on November 10 to facilitate project coordination with heads of institutions and enterprises from 18 European countries in China.
Xuzhou vice-mayor Wu Weidong said that there are currently 45 European enterprises in Xuzhou and the city’s enterprises represented by XCMG have also entered Germany and the Netherlands, making positive contributions to economic development in these countries.
Xuzhou has established sister-city relations with Bochum and Erfurt in Germany, Saint-Étienne in France, Leoben in Austria, Lanciano in Italy and Erd in Hungary. In recent years, the city also operates direct freight trains to Germany and Poland, which help promote trade, exchange and investment.
Dr. Andreas Risch, chair of European Chamber Nanjing Chapter, said the 2022 business confidence survey shows most members of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China are satisfied with the current policies in Jiangsu and almost all of them choose to continue development in the Chinese market.
At the meeting, Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone and Airtificial Intelligent Robots China in Suzhou signed an agreement for strategic cooperation on smart manufacturing and Industry 4.0.
