Xuzhou City in Jiangsu Province has made great achievements in its 3-year greening campaign. The city completed about 34,600 hectares of afforestation in the period and had a forest coverage rate of 27.8% in 2021, highest in the coastal province.

Xuzhou carried out extensive efforts of restoration in mountains and reforestation, significantly enhancing the forest quantity and quality through the campaign. It has maintained the top forest coverage rate in Jiangsu for 16 years in a row.

Among the city's natural landmarks, the park with more than 400,000 maple trees in an area of 400 hectares went viral on the Internet in this autumn. The city's Fengxian County added the scenery of the metasequoia trees along Dasha River, and an avenue flanked by cherry trees in Tongshan District has become a new attraction in spring. Xuzhou also built an 18-km long eco-tourism belt along the Grand Canal.

According to Xuzhou Natural Resources and Planning Bureau, there are 9,327 old and valuable trees in the city, all over 100 years old, and some ginkgo trees are about 1000 years old. Most of the trees have been placed under good preservation.
