The delegation from Jiangsu Province listened to and studied the report delivered by Xi Jinping at the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China that opened on October 16 in Beijing.
Cao Lubao, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and secretary of the CPC Suzhou Municipal Committee said, "we will earnestly study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, continuously enrich and improve the ideas and practices for Suzhou's modernization, and make Suzhou a city of innovation, opening-up, cultural prosperity with good governance, livability and ecological protection."
Xu Feng, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Wuxi Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Jiangyin Committee, said it's a great honor to both participate in and witness the great development in the past ten years. Jiangyin City will follow the guidance of general secretary of the CPC Central Committee and forge ahead to create a new chapter of the city's modernization.
"Tongzhou District has the only national high-tech zone in Nantong City and will give full play to the leading role of major projects. The district will cultivate a number of leading enterprises, injecting new momentum for high-quality development," said Zhang Jianhua, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Nantong Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Tongzhou Committee.
In the view of Jiang Yong, Party chief of Soochow University, universities are the main training hubs for talents and an important part of national strategic scientific and technological forces, shouldering the dual mission of talent training and scientific and technological innovation.
Upholding the idea that "talent is the first resource", Jiangsu will integrate the supply side of talent training and the demand side of industrial growth, actively align with national strategies and regional development needs, and advance the transformation of traditional industries as well as the rise of emerging industries, said Ge Daokai, director of the province's Education Department and secretary of the Education Work Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee.
Zhou Haijiang, Party chief and board chairman of HOdo Group, said the group has spearheaded the development of the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone (SSEZ) in Cambodia, which is a flagship project in the Belt and Road Initiative. The group will be committed to sustainable development in pursuing new achievements and high-quality growth of the SSEZ.
Ma Wei, secretary of the CPC Siyang County Committee, said the report has focused on green development, the Beautiful China Initiative and the prevention and control of environmental pollution. Ma also said Siyang will try to convert its ecological advantages into practical results of high-quality development.
Li Yinjiang, director of the nursing home in Guiwu Town of Xuyi County, hoped to make the facility a happy destination, build more community-based elderly care stations, and ensure care and recreation for the elderly.
Ma Yuting, researcher at Suzhou Institute of Systems Medicine, said the CPC Central Committee has attached great importance to scientific and technological innovation and care for talents. As a research worker, she said she will work with her team to explore new fields and make new achievements, promoting the development of biomedical industry.
