Chen Xingyin, deputy governor of Jiangsu Province, conferred the flag to medial teams for one-year mission in Zanzibar, Guyana and Malta on September 16.
A total of 43 members that made up China’s 32nd medical team to Tanzania's Zanzibar, 18th medical team to Guyana and 18th medical team to Malta completed four months of intensive training before the mission.

Chen said China’s dispatch of medical teams to foreign countries is a long-term strategy and also an important initiative to participate in global public health governance and build a community of common destiny for mankind.
Chen called for medical team members to keep in mind the country’s overall development and diplomatic work, resolutely safeguard national dignity and interests, and bring to life the values of trust, righteousness, justice and integrity that China upholds as a major country.
She also said it’s important to carry forward the humanitarian spirit and the fine tradition of Jiangsu's foreign aid, explore innovative and new assistance models, and enhance the training of talents and technical support to provide quality medical services for local people.
Efforts are also needed to cooperate with embassies and consulates in order to protect the health of overseas Chinese and safeguard the national interests, actively engage in people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, constantly enhance the country's cultural soft power, and promote friendship with foreign countries, according to Chen.
