Jiangsu Legal Aid Foundation expands its reach

The Jiangsu Legal Aid Foundation held a ceremony in Nanjing on September 15 to mark the receiving of donation totaling 9.92 million yuan from several organizations.

The donators included the Jiangsu branch of China Grid, Jiangsu Lawyers Association, Jiangsu Fangyuan Group and Jiangsu Hengshi Group.

Since its establishment in 2007, the Jiangsu Legal Aid Foundation has raised 119 million yuan and committed 76.55 million yuan on 170,000 cases and a number of projects, helping the disadvantaged avoid or retrieve loss of about 2.7 billion yuan.

In 2021, the foundation has sponsored legal aid agencies and lawyer associations in 317 cases, involving 2,490 beneficiaries, and supported 71 legal aid projects, doubling the number of cases and funding amount in comparison with last year.
