Jiangsu has introduced a special permit system for vehicles in order to facilitate the smooth and efficient delivery of emergency supplies in Nanjing and Yangzhou cities during the COVID-19 fight, said Mei Zhengrong, deputy director of the province’s Department of Transport on August 3.
Vehicles issued with the permit will enjoy the priority in road use and there will also be special lanes reserved for them as well as emergency response professionals.
The province also guides local authorities to open fast-track nucleic acid testing stations specially for drivers, couriers and others involved in the delivery of emergency supplies.
The department is planning to open 2-3 land or waterway-based transit stations around the two cities so the emergency supplies can be quickly transported and distributed by designated vehicles and roads.
