Various events have been held across East China’s Jiangsu Province to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Cultural shows were held in cities including Zhenjiang, Wuxi and Yangzhou. A musical event held by the Wuxi National Traditional Orchestra made creative use of multimedia and lighting effects to help the audience relive the CPC’s history. At the Yangzhou Canal Theatre, people sang songs in high spirits in celebration of the CPC’s anniversary and expressed best wishes for the country.
Local culture was featured in many exhibitions. In Sihong, an exhibition of paper-cutting creations attracted many visitors. Known for Duotian agrosystem, a world-level wonder for its unique water-land utilization method, Xinghua has highlighted traditional peasant paintings on a broad range of topics, such as natural landscape, social customs and farming activities. Over the past three months, Xinghua has collected 548 entries from all over the country to showcase the achievements of rural revitalization and promote exchanges among regions known for peasant painting.
In Chongchuan District of Nantong City, 100 elderly Party members received a collection of photographs showing their service to the public, taken by volunteers.
