The 13th Conference on International Exchange and Cooperation for Overseas Chinese Professionals opened at the Nanjing International Expo Centre on June 16.
The event attracted nearly 2,000 professionals, among which nearly half are PhD holders. It highlighted jobs in eight fields including software and information services, new energy vehicles, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence. In addition to the main venue in Nanjing. The event also had four parallel sessions in North America, Australia, Asia and Europe.
At the event, 67 post-doctoral research stations published recruitment information for over 1,000 jobs and in 500 projects. There were also 300 lucrative offers from 72 enterprises, among which 40 jobs are above the annual salary threshold of 500,000 yuan.
The event recognized ten individuals who completed their studies abroad and ten start-up companies launched by returnees, for their personal achievements and business growth potentials, respectively.
It also announced 20 winning projects in the city’s entrepreneurship competition, and these projects involve emerging industries such as electronic information, high-end intelligent equipment, biomedicine and artificial intelligence. The first prize winner has the chance to be supported in the talent program Purple Mountain Pioneers and receive the funding of up to 3.5 million yuan, if the project is settled into the city.
The conference has been held for 12 sessions since its inauguration in 2008, attracting nearly 2,000 high-level talents from home and abroad each year. The platform has helped introduce 6,000 professionals to work in domestic enterprises and public institutions, and facilitated the birth of more than 2,300 technology projects.
