Jiangsu sent the seventh batch of medical workers to assist the prevention and control of the pneumonia epidemic caused by the novel coronavirus or COVID-19 in Hubei Province, hit hard by the epidemic.
On February 13, the new team of 705 medics departed from airports in Nanjing, Xuzhou and Yangzhou cities to help Hubei province. The General Office of Jiangsu Provincial Government and other departments also sent five officers to help the efforts in Wuhan.
Jiangsu previously sent 1,792 medical workers to Hubei, mainly to carry out the prevention and control of the epidemic in Wuhan and Huangshi city. Up till now, a total of 2,497 medical workers have been sent to support Hubei.
