Nanjing has halted the sale of fever or cough medicines at local retail pharmacies since February 12 just in case there are potential patients infected with the novel coronavirus. 

The sales suspension of the above-mentioned medicines means that patients with related symptoms have to go to hospitals for cautious treatment and strict monitoring.  

Jiangsu has initiated a first-level response to this major public health emergency and the notice is only effective during the period.
