The Huai’an delegation of the 3rd session of the 12th Jiangsu People’s Congress, the provincial legislature, held a plenary meeting on the afternoon of January 15 to deliberate the government work report made by governor Wu Zhenglong.
Cai Lixin, head the delegation and also secretary of the CPC Huai’an Committee, presided over the meeting, where Chen Zhichang, Zhang Guoliang, Zhu Jilu and Wang Zhengxi also participated. Officials from the province’s departments of education, auditing, industry and information technology and finance heard opinions and suggestions in the deliberation too.
Cai said the work report has made precise guidelines over many initiatives related to Huai’an, such as the construction of the Grand Canal Cultural Belt, cooperative industrial park and the Nanjing-Huai’an Intercity Railway. The report is quite encouraging as it has showed the care and support from the CPC Jiangsu Committee and the provincial government to Huai’an.
Huai'an will focus efforts on key concerns, goals and results, carry our comprehensive and targeted measures to address the difficulties, and fully promote the city’s reform and development to a new level.
Chen Zhichang said Huai'an will earnestly implement the deployment plans, work towards the goal of building a moderately well-off society in all aspects at a high quality, fill in the gap in economic growth and cultural development, ensure the steady progress in poverty alleviation, and launch ten projects to meet people’s requirements and improve the livelihood. The city will start early, plan well, and achieve solid progress in such efforts. Meanwhile, Huai’an will carry out safety inspections to identify and tackle potential hazards, and strive to blaze a new path of high-quality development.
Other Huai’an deputies shared their opinions and suggestions over a broad range of issues, such as the construction of a modern integrated transportation system, business environment, improvement of housing conditions for farmers in northern Jiangsu, modern industries, pre-school education, rural revitalization, and talent development.
