The third session of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC Jiangsu) convened a joint group meeting on January 20, discussing the province’s development strategies.
In response to the suggestions of boosting positive momentum of economic development, Ma Xin, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee and executive vice-governor, noted that the suggestions would be analysed and implemented in future endeavours. He also encouraged enterprises to explore market potential and leverage supportive policies to bolster the development.
CPPCC members also offered suggestions on issues such as public safety, social governance, green transformation of economic and social development, commercialization of technological achievements, and building of culturally active province.
Li Yaoguang, also a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Jiangsu Provincial Committee, praised the insightful contributions from the CPPCC members. Li said solid efforts will be made to safeguard public safety, combat crime, and advance the modernization of social governance capability.
In the meeting, vice-governor Fang Wei welcomed the opinions, suggestions and supervisions by CPPCC Jiangsu members. Fang emphasized the importance of upgrading industrial structure and energy system, promoting a new round of comprehensive clean-up of Taihu Lake, and improving rural ecological environment.
Noting the insightful ideas put forward by CPPCC members, vice-governor Zhao Yan highlighted the province’s commitment to improving people's livelihood through targeted initiatives.
Meanwhile, vice-governor Chen Zhongwei remarked that Jiangsu is set to accelerate its development into a leading cultural powerhouse, with enhanced efforts in cultural heritage protection and support for cultural innovation.
Furthermore, vice-governor Li Zhongjun said Jiangsu has provided strong support to integrate technological and industrial innovation in recent years. The province will elevate its innovation system, aiming to establish a globally influential hub of innovation.
