Jiangsu's trade with the five Central Asian countries reached 18.94 billion yuan in the first seven months of this year, up 3.4% year-on-year, according to Nanjing Customs.
On August 22, a China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan freight train carrying auto parts and other goods departed from the SCO (Lianyungang) Logistics Park. As a key connectivity project between China and Central Asia, the rail-road intermodal train exits through a port in Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, passes through Kyrgyzstan, and reaches Uzbekistan.
The SCO (Lianyungang) Logistics Park has now established a multimodal transport network linking road, rail, river and sea. It has also set up warehouses in Central Asia, Southeast Asia and other regions, significantly enhancing its international logistics capacity. With key logistics indicators maintaining strong growth, the park has become an important platform and hub for SCO countries to access international markets via sea routes.
From January to July, a total of 473 China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan rail-road intermodal freight train trips were recorded, up 32.87% year-on-year.
