The second China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Annual Meeting will take place in Yixing of Wuxi City from July 20 to 22.
Co-hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Wuxi Municipal People's Government, the event includes an opening ceremony, an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) fair, and an annual forum. Activities will feature exhibitions of ICH projects, the publication of annual achievements in ICH protection, and academic discussions.
The ceremony will also showcase spectacular performances, allowing the audience to experience the unique charm of ICH items up close.
The ICH fair will feature over 100 national and provincial-level ICH items from across the country, and highlight the integration of traditional culture with modern innovations.
The forum this year will bring together scholars, inheritors, and practitioners to discuss the protection, inheritance, and development of ICH. A panel discussion will focus on how the younger generation of inheritors can preserve and innovate the time-honored crafts.
