June 17 saw the opening of the China Yangzhou Huaiyang Cuisine Festival 2022 and the 4th China Morning Tea Cultural Festival.

As part of the festival, the Yangzhou State Guesthouse hosted an exhibition of signature dishes for breakfast and morning tea options from many cities in the country including Fuzhou, Changsha, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Jinan, Wuhan, Xi'an, Nanchang and Wuhu.
Yangzhou’s local catering enterprises are now joining hands with famous chefs and restaurants from Guangzhou, Shunde, Xuzhou and Huai’an to invite residents and tourists to sample representative delicacies from the five places from June 17 to 23.
As the COVID-19 outbreaks have hit hard the catering sector this year, Yangzhou has introduced a series of measures to support the businesses, such as organizing consumption events and enhancing assistance to pandemic response, said Chen Kaihong, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yangzhou Municipal Committee and also executive vice mayor.
Data showed the city's food and beverage businesses have reported increasing number of consumers since May.
