Artists in Jiangsu Province donated one calligraphy or painting work to each of 2,183 medical professionals sent to help combat the COVID-19 outbreak in Hubei Province during a ceremony in Jiangsu Modern Art Museum on April 16.
Jiangsu Calligraphers Association launched a campaign in late February to call for donation of art works in honor of medical workers fighting on the frontline of the pandemic. It took 25 days to collect all the works with the strong support of artists across the province.
The donation ceremony was held in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu, as well as in Suzhou and Yangzhou cities. The province’s leaders including Wang Yanwen and Hui Jianlin presented certificates to 10 representatives of artists including Yu Tianchi, Yan Gongda, Zhang Jianhua, Sun Xiaoyun and Zhou Jingxin.
