The UAE Zheng He College, located in the China-UAE Industrial Capacity Cooperation Demonstration Zone in Abu Dhabi, held its inaugural training session on June 6.

The college was jointly established by the Jiangsu Maritime Institute, Yangzhou Polytechnic Institute, Jiangsu Overseas Cooperation and Investment Company, and China Jiangsu International. Named after the legendary Chinese navigator Zheng He during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), the college is the first of its kind in the UAE.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from Khalifa Economic Zones Abu Dhabi and more than 40 trainees from enterprises and organizations in the demonstration zone.

With the aim of meeting the actual needs of enterprises operating in the zone, the college will leverage Jiangsu's expertise in vocational education, gather high-quality resources in Chinese language and vocational skills, and inject new vitality into the cultural exchanges between China and the UAE.
