The 2024 Yangzhou Jianzhen Half Marathon is set to begin at 7:30 on March 31, according to a press conference held on March 23.

A total of 30,000 people is expected to participate, with 20,000 runners competing in the half-marathon that boasts a prize pool of $140,000.

The organizing committee has adjusted this year’s racing route to enhance service and running experience. It will pass through the Grand Canal and historical and cultural landmarks, allowing participants to enjoy the city’s blend of ancient and modern charms.

Free shuttle buses and electric bikes will be available, offering access to A-class attractions free of charge during the daytime. Additionally, medical response teams, supported by ambulances, AEDs and professionals, will stand ready to ensure the health and safety of the runners.

The press conference also unveiled the design of the medals, which feature the Wuting Bridge, a covered stone arch footbridge in Yangzhou, illuminated by the bright moon.
