Jiangsu registered 236,000 outbound trips since China allowed travel agencies to provide group tours to 20 countries starting February 6, according to the province's Department of Culture and Tourism.
Following the new policy, the department has held several training sessions for travel agencies and provided guidance on a range of issues, including the group tour's services and insurance.
In video meetings, the department also required travel agencies to provide accurate information of tours, cancel unqualified tourism options, and ensure safety provisions in agreements inked with partners and suppliers.
To guarantee a quality journey, tour operators are required to strictly comply with the requirements of China and the destination countries on COVID-19 response, keep a close eye on the tourists' health, and properly deal with complaints and disputes in a timely manner.
