Jiangsu is promoting the use of digital yuan in its transportation sector, including payment for bus and metro fares, fees for long-distance bus journey, and tolls.

Some toll booths at highway exits in Nanjing are already encouraging the use of digital yuan. Drivers can now be able to pay by showing their e-CNY QR code or use the NFC mobile payment.

The province's Department of Transport will expand the payment scenarios at toll stations after upgrading hardware and software. Additionally, the department plans to steadily promote the payment solution for long-distance passenger transport.

Jiangsu will also launch pilot programs to support payment settlement through digital yuan in supermarkets and businesses close to schools.
