The Show Jiangsu photography tour brought foreign journalists to several landmarks in its first stop in Nanjing on February 20.
The journalists, who came from France, Japan, Vietnam and other countries and regions, visited Xiaoxihu neighborhood, Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, Jiangsu Provincial Sports Bureau Training Center, and other places to learn about the city's development.
Xiaoxihu features traditional alleys from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and has undergone renovations to both preserve the heritage and improve the livelihoods of its residents.
The group also had the opportunity to listen to baiju, local opera featuring singing and telling in the Nanjing dialect. It was also listed in the second batch of national intangible cultural heritage in 2008.
The Show Jiangsu program will also include visits to Wuxi, Xuzhou and Suqian cities.
