Police in Yancheng City of Jiangsu Province have used drones to urge drivers to follow the COVID-19 response measures.
A drone pulling a poster with scannable QR code flew slowly near cars at an exit of the Yancheng-Luoyang Expressway on August 2 and used a loudspeaker to remind drivers to take checks.
In the fight against the pandemic, the city’s police have mobilized nearly 2,000 officers to work at 53 checkpoints, established at national and provincial expressways and local roads, to ensure a 24-hour police service. Over 18,000 vehicles enter the city’s urban area each day.
To ease the traffic jam, local police have taken a series of measures, such as opening new passages and guiding drivers to get prepared in advance. Signs were also set up at 20 meters, 50 meters, 80 meters and 100 meters from the expressway exit.
