On February 2, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism released a list of 315 tourist attractions above A level to be open for free during the Spring Festival holiday, providing a great destination for those stay put to help contain COVID-19.
Amid strong measures to prevent and control the pandemic, Jiangsu will also organize nearly 500 cultural and art events, over 400 exhibitions, and 350 tourism activities during the holiday.

Furthermore, with the arrival of the Year of the Ox, there are more scenic spots highlighting the animal in diverse activities. Ox statues are hung with red ribbons In Nanjing’s Niushou Mountain scenic spot, which will also display a rare bone relic of Sakyamuni from February 11 to 17 and introduce customized New Year gifts.
Cities including Wuxi, Xuzhou and Lianyungang will hold cultural and tourism events featuring their distinctive customs and specialties. Yancheng is also promoting four travel routes to help people fully experience the local traditions.
Liu Yuanzhi, deputy director of the Nanjing Folklore Museum, said this festival is a great chance to promote traditional folk customs. During the holiday, the museum will present and sell handicrafts designed and made by masters of intangible cultural heritage.
Many places are also offering special gifts to employees who can’t return to their hometowns for the festival. Nearly 150 tourist attractions above A level will provide free tours, discounted tickets or coupons specially for migrant workers.
