Over 50 trip routes released in Jiangsu Rural Tourism Festival

The 11th Jiangsu Rural Tourism Festival opened in Shushan Village in Suzhou City on September 26 when 50 trip routes with distinctive features were released for visitors to plan their journey.

The opening ceremony also announced the province’s 26 destinations included in China’s second batch of national key rural tourism villages, and 31 recommended villages worth visiting, selected by the Jiangsu Department of Culture and Tourism and Jiangsu Development and Reform Commission.

The province’s Department of Culture and Tourism, Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and other parties also signed a strategic agreement to promote the integration and joint development of recreational farming, culture and agritourism. Efforts will be made to deepen exchange and cooperation in program planning, product development, promotion, branding, information sharing, and policy support.

Suzhou also released its ten top rural B&B and homestay choices in the city. meanwhile, a recreational vehicle event to visit Jiangsu’s amazing rural areas was also kicked off at the ceremony.

Yang Zhichun, director of the Jiangsu Department of Culture and Tourism, said the province will roll out over 100 well-organized events centering on extraordinary rural tourism resources by the end of October. Visitors from the country are welcome to enjoy the unique water-town charms and beautiful countryside in the coastal province.
