A Kodiak 100 aircraft with seven passengers took off from the Dalu General Airport, located in Zhenjiang’s New Area, on August 26. This marked the official launch of Jiangsu’s first cross-province, short-haul, low-altitude flight linking Dalu with Qiandao Lake in Jiande City of Zhejiang Province.

Meanwhile, construction of the Jiangsu General Aviation Service Station, the first Class A flight service station in the coastal province, also started at the airport. Upon competition, it will provide aviation services to eight cities along the Yangtze River.

Wu Qiuhua, president of Jiangsu Runyang General Aviation Co. Ltd., which operates the utility aircraft, said Kodiak 100 is an advanced 10-seat short takeoff and landing turboprop, with a max speed of 330 km per hour.

The aircraft will fly the 90-minute trip from Zhenjiang to Jiande at 9:00 am on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and then return at 3:00 pm on the same departure day.

The one-way fare is 1,980 yuan, but passengers can purchase the air ticket for just 396 yuan now, available on online flight booking platforms of TravelSky, Ctrip and Fliggy.
