International passengers on their way to Jiangsu have been provided with Level 2 personal protective equipment (PPE) upon arrival in Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing, according to the province’s workgroup responsible for foreign-related COVID-19 response.

The PPE supplies include protective suits, goggles, N95 masks and medical gloves.

In recent days, Jiangsu has seen an increasing number of arriving passengers from abroad as the pandemic spreads outside China, and this means a higher risk of imported COVID-19 case. From March 21 to 25, the Kunshan taskforce of the workgroup transferred over 1,400 passengers a day from Shanghai to Jiangsu.

Since March 23, Jiangsu has required all arriving travelers to receive a centralized quarantine for 14 days, or self-isolation at home for passengers under special conditions. Both Chinese citizens and foreigners should report health conditions and travel history correctly and also comply with other requirements, such as registering for Jiangsu Health Code management.
