The Suzhou Museum has partially reopened to the public on March 16 in a clean and safe environment where an intelligent system including a robot is used for temperatures measurement, visitor number control, admission checks and other purposes.
According to a staff member, the museum has put a smart robot at the entrance which can quickly measure the temperature of visitors in a non-contact way. Developed by Jiangsu Cultural Investment Group and such tech companies as Alibaba, Huawei, and ECOVACS, the device can measure the body temperature of 200 people per minute. The robot also has AI and 5G-based face recognition functions enabling it to quickly identify those without masks.
The cameras inside the venue, also supported by the AI recognition technology, can accurately tell the total number of people in the museum, and once the number exceeds the upper limit, the gate machine will be immediately triggered to slow visitor admissions. The entrance gate is also seamlessly connected to the "Suzhou City Code" (Su Cheng Ma), an app that allows people to travel within the city during the epidemic outbreak. The machine can check the health code and reservation information at the same time, reducing the time needed by each person to pass the gate from 20 seconds to just one.
The measures are the result of Jiangsu Cultural Investment Group’s active exploration of how to improve tourism operations under epidemic prevention. Investigations were conducted into natural landscapes, historical relics, ancient towns and villages, historic districts, and other indoor venues such as museums to precisely tailor the service to new management needs. The group has also successfully worked with internet companies to launch creative marketing campaigns and integrate resources online and offline.
