To read the temperature of passengers quickly and safely and reduce the risks of cross-infection, Suzhou Metro’s nine busy stations put into use of ten thermographic cameras for signs of coronavirus infection on February 11.
The non-contact infrared thermometers can detect one’s temperature in one second.
All passengers will have to take the detection from the device and can only enter the railway station when the result is fine. The equipment will automatically issue a warning when the temperature of the passenger is measured to be 37℃ or above. Then the staff at the railway station will take a second measurement with an ordinary forehead thermometer.
These nine Suzhou Metro stations equipped with the devices include four stations of Line 1, three stations of Line 2 and two stations of Line 3.
