The Xuzhou Xinyi General Airport is ready for aircraft takeoffs and landings starting January 27, after obtaining the license from the Jiangsu bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China on January 19.

The airport, one of eight general airports approved in China since 2012, covers an area of 500 mu (33.3 hectares) and has a total investment of 500 million yuan. The Class-A general airport has an apron area for 20 aircrafts, a 6,000-square-meter terminal building, a 7,200-square-meter hangar, and an emergency base.

In the future, the airport will also build an exhibition hall for general aviation, the first such facility in northern Jiangsu.
