Suzhou Port (CFP)
Suzhou’s total import and export value reached 632.52 billion yuan in the first quarter of 2025, marking a year-on-year increase of 7.3%, according to the data released by Suzhou Customs on April 21.
As a major manufacturing hub, Suzhou has expanded its trade with emerging markets. In the first quarter, trade with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative totaled 269.32 billion yuan, up 14.3%, accounting for over 40% of the city’s total trade.
Among recent developments, Suzhou Port signed a sister port agreement with Chancay Port in Peru in March, launching a low-cost, high-efficiency maritime service between China and South America. In Q1, Suzhou Port’s exports to Peru - including automobiles and construction machinery - rose by over 30% year-on-year in value.
