Jiangsu’s international freight train services completed 195 trips with goods in 16,010 TEUs transported, as announced by the province’s Department of Transportation and Jiangsu International Rail Freight Express Company Limited on February 11.
Jiangsu recorded 96 outbound trips towards Central Asia, a year-on-year increase of 38.7%, which significantly boosted the province’s trade with countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative.
In recent developments, the local operator in Nanjing has collaborated with the city’s logistic hub and customs authorities to streamline the entire transportation process. This cooperation has optimized the loading procedures and enhanced efficiency, leading to the smooth departure of six freight trains over three days from January 28 to 30.
The freight train services in Xuzhou featured earlier scheduling to support foreign trade enterprises.
Suzhou as a trade hub reported a historical high of 41 outbound freight train trips in January, marking a 24.4% increase year-on-year.
Lianyungang has made strides in optimizing the sourcing of goods and enhancing service, with 93 train trips operated in the first month.
