Jiangsu has recently released an action plan for its offshore photovoltaic development covering the period from 2025 to 2030.

The plan outlines key goals and initiatives, emphasizing an eco-friendly, efficient, reliable and phased development approach, with a focus on utilizing offshore wind farm areas and marine aquaculture zones.

The province plans to develop 60 offshore PV project sites, including 33 in Nantong, 14 in Yancheng and 13 in Lianyungang. Jiangsu aims to increase its offshore solar power capacity connected to the grid to approximately 10 million kilowatts by 2027 and 15 million kilowatts by 2030. This strategy will also contribute to the low-carbon transformation of the coastal areas.

In implementing the strategy, the province will thoroughly consider various factors, including nearshore marine environmental functional areas, ecological protection and wetland conservation.
